Kerr blames congested fixtures for Gor’s Cup knockout

Gor Mahia head coach Dylan Kerr says he sympathises with his players after they were bundled out of the FKF-Shield after falling 4-2 to Kariobangi Sharks on penalties after barren deadlock in normal time.

Kerr also attributed the calamitous defeat to congested fixtures, the tie coming barely 24 hours after a long trip from Algiers, Algeria where they were knocked out of the Caf-Confederations Cup by USM Algers.

“Not even in big leagues like EPL, Bundesliga or Serie A would you find a team squeezed with assignments like we are. We are not getting any help from the League organizers despite crying for help,”Kerr charged.

Kerr said he will now strategize a fresh and ensure his boys are reinvigorated for future assignments. Despite clinching the league title ten days ago, Gor still have their hands full with a number of matches still on the cards.

Meanwhile , defender Karim Nzigyimana says they have learnt  from their mistakes and are now focused in making the country proud when they represent Kenya in next year’s continental assignments.

”It is now the duty of players, coach, technical bench and the management to plan well for better results,” Said Karim, who recently returned to the starting eleven after a long lay-off.
