Kerr submits list of players he wants dropped

Kenyan Premier League (KPL) giants Gor Mahia top officials have differed with head coach Dylan Kerr on some of the players he wants released, in his plan for the 2018/2019 season.

The officials have however pointed out they are still in an amicable talk with the coach, hence nothing has been concluded regarding the proposed transfers.

Notably, Kerr is suggesting the club needs to drop some strikers to give space for new signings, seeking to strengthen the department with the CAF Champions League competition in mind.
In an interview with Royal Media’s Ramogi FM, Deputy Secretary General Ronald Ngala revealed the proposal by Kerr, albeit saying it was a normal suggestion by a coach which needs ‘a simple talk over’ before a decision is made.
‘’We are in talks with the coach in regard to some of the names he proposed for axing since we feel some of them are still too good to leave at this point.  We shall give details once done with the talks,” said Ngala.

He could however not mention the players in Kerr’s list, nor did he mention the potential recruits saying time was not ripe.

Despite the ambition to bring on board finer players, Ngala noted the current financial situation at the club limits them “only recruit affordable players’.

The only earlier information about new players to K’Ogalo for next season’s assignments was the comeback of midfielder Kenneth Muguna from Albania’s FK Tirana, and Ugandan left-back Shafique Batambuze.

Gor Mahia is getting ready for another busy season ahead, with, CECAFA Club Championship, KPL, FKF Shield and the CAF duty awaiting them among other coveted competitions.

In the same vein, Ngala  told Ramogi they are in talks with players whose contracts are almost done, two days after their veteran goalkeeper Boniface Oluoch penned a new deal that will see him remain at the for the next three years.

Gor Mahia players are now on a break and will report back to camp on the October 24 in readiness for their England trip, where they will play Everton at Goodison Park.
