Kerr tells Gor to sharpen their cutting edge

Gor Mahia FC head coach Dylan Kerr made his clear his frustrations at his side’s poor finishing as they laboured to see out Wazito FC 1-0 in Wednesday’s Kenyan Premier League (KPL) fixture.

The Englishman admitted he was happy to preserve his side’s winning streak with their latest triumph taking them closer back to the summit of the KPL table but was critical of how they had won.

Gor spurned two glorious chances in the first half and visitors Wazito were looked set to take a point off the champions before Jacques Tuyisenge headed home the winner with 16 minutes left on the clock.

“I am very much disappointed because we had a lot of goal-scoring chances especially in the first half. As defending champions we should not allow ourselves such comfort,” Kerr said.

Gor will have no league fixture over the weekend as they prepare for Wednesday’s return leg of their CAF Confederation playoff against Supersport United.

The domestic giants have a 1-0 first leg advantage over the South African Premiership outfit and Kerr will hope to see a more clinical display from his charges as they seek to advance to the group stages of the second-tier continental club showpiece.
