Kerr warns rivals the best yet to come from Gor

Coach Dylan Kerr declared Gor Mahia’s latest crushing win is only a preamble of what rivals should expect this season as the champions sauntered to a 4-2 win over Zoo Kericho FC on Thursday.

Gor’s depth in squad allowed Kerr the luxury of making nine alterations to the team that started in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Leones Vegetarianos with skipper Harun Shakava and Meddie Kagere accorded no rest.

Goals from Jacques Tuyisenge, Boniface Omondi, Joakim Olouch and Samuel Onyango ensured Gor maintained their perfect start to the 2018 season, climbing back to top of the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) table.

The only flaw in the win was that K’Ogalos defense was breached for the first time this year with Johnson Ligare and Nicholas Kipkirui on target for the home side but Kerr maintained he was impressed by his side’s display.

“I commend my lads for the fighting spirit they showed today and for the impressive results posted. We have been in good form since the league began and I’m optimistic of a bright future,” the Englishman told Citizen Digital.

His Zoo counterpart Sammy Okoth urged his side – who lost by the same scoreline in their league opener at Ulinzi Stars – to pick themselves up following the result that condemned them to rock bottom of the KPL log.

“We are hopefully of doing well in the coming fixtures because we have learnt from our mistakes,” Okoth said.

Gor next have an away trip to Equatorial Guinea for Wednesday’s CAF Champions League preliminary round return fixture against Vegetarianos while Zoo travel to Sony Sugar for their third KPL match of the season.
