Kimani backs Bandari to challenge for FKF-PL title

Bandari FC assistant coach Anthony Kimani believes the squad has the quality it takes to challenge for the FKF Premier League title this season.

Fifth in the league standing after 16 games, Kimani said the hard work the players and the technical bench are putting in with the support of the clubs management is a good recipe that makes the team title contenders.

“For now the race for the title is still open and that give us the chance to fight for it and give the best we can in each and every game we try and get as many points as we can and at the end of the season we see where we will be because this season the league is more competitive no one can run away with it like the previous seasons,” Kimani said.

The former AFC Leopards coach thanked the team for the good support he has received from the entire team that has made him settle in the coastal side quickly.

“They really gave me a good welcome because most of the member of the technical bench we had interacted during matches in the league or while on national duty so I felt at home and we  began to work straight way so I really feel at home and hope to win trophies with this wonderful club ,”added Kimani

The former Kenyan international also urged the Government to allow sports to resume in order avoiding congestion of fixtures in the race to finish the season in time.

“It’s a break that has affected the team because we were on a good run of games and form so it will definitely affect the momentum of the team but at the same time we are hoping the player will adjust quickly when football returns ,”the youthful tactician told Citizen Digital
