AFC Leopards interim coach Antony ’Modo’ Kimani has tipped Burundian striker Bienvenue Shaka and Congolese midfielder Fabrice Mugheni to play key roles at the club.

Despite the congestion in midfield and striking departments, Kimani believes the duo will be an important part of his plans hailing their work ethic, discipline and focus.

“Definitely they have added power and belief in the team with Shaka doing what he knows best- controlling the ball with ease in midfield and making solid distribution,” Kimani explained, adding, “Mugheni is talented with his skills and has ability of picking out strikers to score.”

Mugheni was signed by Leopards in November just a month after the arrival of Shaka with both penning two-year deals.

The duo faces stiff competition in the congested Leopards setup with the likes of Harrison Mwendwa, Peter Thiong’o Hansel Ochieng, Eugene Mukangula, Musa Saad among others vying for starting roles.

Both earned their place in the starting eleven on Sunday against leaders KCB, a clash that ended the latter’s 100 percent run.

At the same time Kimani says Ingwe are treating every match as a final with an aim of earning maximum points as they bid to break a title hoodoo.

“We have agreed to treat each match as a final and work hard to collect maximum points and then we will wait and see whether our tally will allow us to finish top of league. If that happens then we will thank God.”

He has also warned his side to be wary of their next opponents Kariobangi Sharks who also have registered good results so far.

“We are expecting a tough duel against Sharks not forgetting the fact that we have not won easily against them recently but records are always there to be broken,”‘ he concluded.
