Kimanzi, Muyoti targeting maximum points as Wazito host Homeboyz

Wazito FC head coach Francis Kimanzi says he is impressed with his team’s confidence heading into Friday’s Football Kenya Federation Premier League match, noting recent wins have impacted the team’s attitude positively.

Wazito host Kakamega Homeboyz at the Moi International Sports Centre Kasarani with the former Harambee Stars coach asserting he is out to collect maximum points.

“More important is to focus on our own preparation you know it’s important to know the threat that our opponents pose on us. We have checked the way they operate and we are now focusing on the possibilities that we have against them, to get the maximum points,” said Kimanzi.

Both teams won their immediate previous matches with Wazito overcoming Nzoia 2-1 while Kakamega Homeboyz won at home against Bidco United 2-0.

“Believe comes with good preparations which comes with increased confidence, and I like the fact that I’m seeing it in the team. The zeal to play and win football matches in a composed and comfortable way is a developing attitude in the team and I like it,” added Kimanzi

The Kenyan moneybags are unbeaten in their last four fixtures in the league and midfielder Yvonne Isuza says they are determined to continue with the good run.

“We are expecting a very tough game from a team that almost won the league last season before the Covid-19 disruption. We know the threat they can pose to their opponents but as the coach has said we are ready for the match,” offered Isuza.

Wazito are third of the FKF PL log with17 points from nine matches while Homeboyz are 12th with eight points form eight outings.

Homeboyz head coach Nicholas Muyoti on the other hand says the slow start his charges have had in the current campaign is an inspiration to do more, now that they having returned to winning ways.

“We will not be carried away by the Bidco win in the last round. We still have got a lot of work to do but we draw confidence from it, which we are finally getting the mettle we have been lacking. We kept a clean sheet against Bidco, and we want to be strong in defence to avoid conceding, then we be clinical in our chances. If we work that way we will win away,” said the coach.

The match kicks off at 3:00pm Nairobi time.
