Kip Keino Classic: Mboma lights up Kasarani

Olympic 200m silver medallist Christine Mboma proved too strong for her opponents as she stormed to victory over the distance at the Kip Keino Classic.

Mboma, the World Under-20 record holder clocked 22.39 seconds ahead of Josee Marie Ta Lou of Ivory Coast who finished second in 22.98 as Aminatou Seyni of Nigeria closed the podium in 23.33.

“I had already closed my season in Zagreb but I saw it was good for me to compete in this meet being held in Africa. I think I have had a fantastic season and hoping for a better one next year,” said Mboma.

Ta Lou said she is shifting her focus to next season.

“I was not fully fit but I think it was a good race for me especially being my first race in Kenya. I am now going to prepare for next season,” Ta Lou.
