Jackline Atidonyang ran a memorable 10KM race to stun two-time world cross champion and two-time Chicago Marathon Champion Florence Kiplagat as Noah Kipkemoi took the men’s title at the Kapsokwony cross country on Saturday.

World Under 20 champion Celliphine Chespol maintained her winning streak in the 6km junior race while Noah Kipkemei stunned Abraham Kiptum the Ndalat cross winner, to take the race title in 31:01.

In the women’s race, Jackline Atidonyang stopped the timer at 36:04 to take the title as Nelly Cheptoo followed closely in 36:5 while freshly minted Chicago Marathon champion and race favourite Florence Kiplagat settled for third place 37:2.

Dainel Kipchumba (24:46) took the men’s 8km junior race title in a very tightly contested race between him and Joshua Kiplagat (24:59) who finished second as Calbus Lomwai (25:02) came in third.

Home favorite Cellphine Chepsol, the U20 steeplachase world champion dominated and won the 6km junior race title in 21:04 while Zenah Chemtai (21:27) and Catherine Relina (21:48) came in second and third.
