Kipngeno, Meringor win Ndakaini Half- Marathon

Patrick Kipngeno on Saturday successfully defended his men’s title at the 14th edition of the Ndakaini Half Marathon, winning in 1:07:17 ahead of Robert Kipkemboi and Shadrack Kiplagat.

At the same time, Devin Meringor won the women’s title in the 21km race ahead of Nancy Kimaiyo and Gladys Otero.

For their conquests the duo has both been awarded Sh 300,000.Runners up took Sh 150,000, while third place finishers pocketed Sh 105,000.

Meanwhile, Peter Njoroge won the men’s 10km race ahead of training partner John Elimlim and Cornelius Koskei, who came second and third respectively.

In the women’s 10 km race, Josephine Wanjiru reined supreme showing grit to overcome a tough challenge from Lydia Nyansikera and Margaret Wamahiga who took the second and third spot in that order.

Running under the theme, “Run for Life in Good Company”, this year’s event drew hundreds of competitors from several counties.The event is sponsored by UAP Old Mutual, while Royal Media Services which has been a major partner of the event has sponsored this year’s edition to a tune of Sh 20 million worth of airtime.
