K’Opondo to lead strong Simbas squad for Chile opener
Simbas Head Coach Jerome Paarwater has named a strong squad for their Regal Hotels Cup of Nations opener against Chile in Hong Kong.
Skipper Wilson K’Opondo will lead his teammates with sensational fly half Nato Simiyu also receiving the nod to take up the kicking duties as he sets to don on the number 10 jersey.
KCB duo of Darwin Mukidza and Jacob Ojee will position at blindside and open wing donning the number 11 jersey and 14 respectively.
David Ambunya of Kenya Harlequins and Leo Seje of Impala Saracens will partner at the midfield.
Tight three of experienced Moses Amusala, Peter Karia and Curtis Lilako will be helped by the more experience of Oliver Mang’eni and Captain Wilson debutant George Nyambua at lock positions.
Powerhouse Joshua Chisanga will be hoping Davis Chenge and debutant George Nyambua will be at their best behavior as they look to traumatize Chile’s defense.
The swift Samson Onsomu of Impala Saracens will partner with Nato Simiyu at number 9 and 10 respectively.
Vincent Mose,Biko Adema and Lyle Asiligwa will start from the bench joined by Phillip Ikambili,Oscar Simiyu,Dennis Karani and Peter Kilonzo.
Martin Owilla,and Strathmore duo of Elkeans Musonye and Alex Olaba will not be playing in matchday one.
The Simbas will clash against Chile at 12:00pm paving way for the second clash of the tournament sees hosts Hong Kong clash against defending champions Russia at 2:00pm.
