KPL issues terse warning to erring Gors Kerr
Gor Mahia head coach Dylan Kerr has come under fire from the Kenyan Premier League over inappropriate conduct in the past matches against Sofapaka and Mathare United.
The league body on Monday warned the title winning coach to contain his temperament, adding that he must follow the laid down procedures while lodging complaints, as future acts of misconduct will see him charged and summoned to appear before the Independent Disciplinary and Complains Committee(IDCC).
On September 27, at the Kisumu County Stadium, Kerr charged onto the pitch in protest of a goal scored by Sofapaka’s Umaru Kasumba, in a match that K’Ogalo won 2-1.
Kerr’s actions forced Sofapaka FC to launch complains about his unruly behavior though he later apologised for the incident in his post-match interview.
A few weeks later on October 14, Kerr once again revealed his ugly side against Mathare United damaging a plastic chair belonging to the management of the Thika Sub-county Stadium.
For his transgressions, he has been fined Sh 2 500, the value of the damaged chair.
According to KPL Mr. Kerr’s actions on both occasions are contrary to Rule 7.1 of the Rules Governing of Kenyan Football which cautions against “Committing any act or making any statement or being responsible for any conduct which the committee considers unsporting, insulting or improper and likely behaviour and likely to bring the game into disrepute.”
