Kenya Women’s Premier League side Ulinzi Starlets lethal striker Fasila Adhiambo has cautioned his teammates against underrating Zetech Sparks ahead of their weekend clash.

The two sides will lock horns on Sunday at Ulinzi Sports Complex, with Fasila urging his teammates to be wary of complacency if they are to finish the season stronger.

“It will not be that easy to defeat Zetech, considering that they are coming from a huge 8-0 win against Kisiwa starlets in the FKF Women’s Cup quarter finals last weekend.

“As a team, we are well prepared to face them and I believe that with the right approach and hard work, we shall win to continue keeping the top three finish dream alive.

“We have missed the services of our ailing coach Joseph Wambua Mwanza for long time, but the other coaches in the technical bench are guiding us well.

“Being that the chances of winning the Premier League are diminished, and we want to retain our FKF Women’s cup for the third time, having stormed to the semifinals after beating Milima Queens 2-0 in quarter finals last weekend and I think that will be a very good price for our ailing coach Wambua. We want to win the cup for him.”

Fasila however, has cited national team commitments for her failure to contest for the top scorer’s awards.

“I was aiming to become the top scorer but up to now, I have managed to score two goals in the Premier League campaign and three in the FKF Women’s cup.

“I don’t regret it because, I missed five matches the time I was called up to the Women Nation side (Rising Starlets) for the 2024 U20 Women’s world cup qualifiers in November 2023 where we were bundled out by Cameroon in 6-2 aggregate loss.”

Keya Police Bullets, who are paying in the league for the first time, are on the apex of the table with 43 points, nine ahead of four-time champions Vihiga Queens, as the soldiers sits third with 29 points, while Kibera Soccer Ladies wrap up top four with 27 points in that order.
