KYISA Games: Busia basketball team finish second

Busia women basketball team settled for second place finish after beating Makueni 50-41 in their last round robin match of the Kenya Youth Inter-County Sports Association (KYISA) games encounter at Busia County Stadium.

The ladies action attracted only three counties including Siaya, thus forcing organizers to have the three teams play on home and away round-robin basis.

In the opening match, Busia beat Makueni before losing to Siaya in two legs. The back-to -back win against Makueni was enough to earn them second place finish. For their heroics they are assured of a trophy and prize money.

By finishing second they emulated their male counterparts who finished in similar position in Nandi County last year.

The final match pitting Siaya against Makueni set for Friday is thus a mere formality for the Nyanza side which has remained unbeaten in three matches.

They wil however l want to confirm their championship status by registering a resounding victory against the hapless Makueni.
