AFC Leopards defender Yusuf Mainge has left the 12-time champions for FK Pohronie.

Club chairman Dan Shikanda confirmed the departure of the defender who was signed by Ingwe in 2018 after completing his secondary school education at Kakamega High School.

At the same time Shikanda confirmed that they will be unveiling their new signings on Friday in Mumias where the team is currently pitching camp ahead of the new season.

The 12-time Kenyan Premier League champions who finished 11th last season will kick of their new season campaign with an away match against Kakamega Homeboyz at Bukhungu Stadium on September 1, and Shikanda has earmarked bolstering the squad before the campaign kicks off.

“We have completed the signing of six players so far but we’re still waiting to sign two more players and we will be ready for next season. We have are looking at a forward , a winger and right back now that Mainge has left the club ,” Said Shikanda

He went on: “We have signed very top players who we believe will add value to our team. Our aim is to restore the lost glory this club has and identity that needs to be protected, and that must start by signing players who understand the importance of playing for the badge.”

“We have lined up a number of friendly matches after we are through with the strength and condition in Mumias, the matches will involve both local and international teams that we are finalizing discussions with,” Shikanda told Citizen Digital
