AFC Leopards midfielder, Moussa Sissoko will don his favourite number 31 jersey after arriving to take his place at the Den following his transfer from Malian titans AC Djoliba.

The Malian who was signed by Ingwe in the June transfer window has been touted as the main creative force to supply the forward line led by new signing Paul Kiongera who joined Ivan Minnaert’s mid season revolution after his contract with Tanzanian champions Simba SC expired.

Leopards Team Manager Joseph Milimo admitted expectations are already high on the West African who arrived on Tuesday night.

“Since he is a player who has been brought by Minnaert, he has to prove to the coach that he is worthy to play for one of the most decorated clubs in Kenya,” he underscored.

Sissoko is slotted to join the midfield alongside the returning Bernard Mang’oli and Andrew Tololwa who is sidelined for four weeks to command the midfield.

“If you want to talk to Sissoko then come with a translator who understands French since the striker only knows that as his second language,” the official added.

The club organised a friendly against Vapour FC on Wednesday afternoon to give the Malian the chance to shake off the jetlag and gauge whether he is fit to make his debut this weekend during their crunch Kenyan Premier League clash against title-chasing Mathare United at Nairobi’s Nyayo Stadium.
