Leopards hit Wazito for seven, Tusker stunned in GOtv

The sizable crowd of spectators gathered at the Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday were treated to an avalanche of goals as AFC Leopards rained on Wazito FC 7-1 to seal the last remaining spot in the GOtv Shield semis.

The crushing victory ensured Leopards kept alive their hopes of silverware this season, joining Sony Sugar, Kariobangi Sharks and Vihiga United in the last four of the Cup tournament.

It was a statement result from the side devoid of form in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) but their second-tier opponents showed little fight in conceding the huge defeat.

A hattrick of converted penalties from Burundian striker Alexis Kitenge, and a pair of braces from Marcellus Ingotsi and substitute Samuel Ndungu sealed the win for Leopards as Dennis Gicheru scored the consolation goal from the spot.

In the earlier fixture, Vihiga stunned holders Tusker FC 2-0 to ensure this year will witness the crowning of a new champion.

Charles Okwemba scored a first half penalty before Dennis Lugalia scored late on to seal the victory for Vihiga.
