Leopards in the hunt for new assistant head coach

Kenyan Premier League (KPL) giants AFC Leopards have officially announced the post of assistant head coach as the re-structuring of the Den continues after an underwhelming season.

Ingwe through their official club website, have advertises the position as they seek the right candidate who will help the new head coach and Englishman Stewart Hall  in bringing back the lost glory starting next season after slumping to 13th in the current campaign with a game to go.

Those who had applied for the position earlier have however, been advised not to re-apply since they will be considered with Hall expected to be given a free hand to choose his assistant in consultations with the Executive Committee.

Ezekiel Akwana who has been holding the position was sacked after a poor run of results following his elevation to the position of interim head coach after Belgian Ivan Minnaert was shown the door.

The application will be received not later than Sunday.

Leopards were beaten 1-0 by Tusker FC last weekend at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru in a loss that clinched an 11th KPL title for the Brewers.

In the run-up to the game Leopards announced the suspension of four key first team players whose fate is set to be decided next week after being given 14 days to respond.

Ingwe are hoping for a fresh start next term after a campaign that started with an unbeaten run of nine games degenerated into a farce.
