Leopards out to bounce back at Bandari after derby humiliation

AFC Leopards head coach Andre Casa Mbungo has vowed to sink hosts Bandari FC when the two sides cross swords at the Mbaraki Sports Club in Mombasa this afternoon in a Kenyan Premier League match.

Harambee Stars striker John-Mark Makwata and midfielder Wyvonne Isuza have already linked up with the team after the international duty with Harambee Stars and Mbungo is optimistic of good tidings.

“Ingwe is ready to face Bandari and even those players who have been with the national team have joined us as we head to Mombasa,” he said.

The last time the two teams locked horns was in April this year, Leopards winning 2-1 at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos thanks to goals from Vincent Oburu and Wyvonne Isuza.

This victory was revenge of sorts after being hammered 4-1 in Mombasa in the reverse fixture.

Bandari occupy position 12 on the log with 11 points and the Bernard Mwalala coached side will be hoping to utilize their home advantage to improve their standing.

“It is true that to earn a point from Bandari in Mombasa is not easy but records are meant to be broken, we’re focused on playing and getting good results,” he added.

Leopards lost their last fixture falling 4-1 to Gor Mahia in the Mashemeji derby and will be out to bounce back.

Mbungo however has a fully fit squad to choose from but cloud be blurred by lack of player motivation as salaries have delayed for upto four months.
