Leopards roar on, Sofapaka held

AFC Leopards extended their three game winning streak beating Thika United 2-0 at the Thika Municipal Stadium on Saturday afternoon to boost their quest for a top-three finish.

Alex Orotomal and Ezekiel Odera grabbed the goals for the Leopards in the 65th and 74th minute to seal all the maximum points.

The victory takes Leopards to 48 points, same as second placed Bandari whilst Thika United’s poor form continues as they struggle to get points. This is a fourth loss in the last five games since they last collected a point against Kakamega Homeboyz.

At the Sudi Stadium, Sofapaka`s Stephen Waruru scored late in the second half to salvage a point for Sofapaka in a sterling 2-2 draw against Nzoia Sugar.

Batoto ba Mungu took the lead on the 12thminute from Yusuf Mohammed but the lead was short lived  as as Collins Wakhungu hit the equaliser seven minutes later.

The sugar millers then hit the target on the 21stcourtesy of Patrick Kwitonda to overhaul Sofapaka and go in front.

The former champions needed a 67th minute goal from Stephen Waruru to level the scores, to get a point.

Nzoia Sugar are now 13thon the log on 31 points recording a third draw in the last five matches whilst Sofapaka are on fourth on 44 points.
