Leopards set for Covid-19 screening ahead of league kick off

AFC Leopards playing unit and the technical bench members are set to undergo Covid-19 tests this morning, one of the health protocols ahead of the 2020-2021 FKF Premier League season which kicks off this Saturday.

Leopards football operations manager Tom Juma has confirmed that they will be screened at Depol Centre in Karen where they are training.

The testing exercise began on Monday with clubs needing to do so as per the guidelines put in place by the health ministry and Football Kenya Federation.

“We are waiting for them to have our tests. According to plans we are supposed to be tested this morning (Wednesday),”Juma said.

Leopards screening comes just a day after Ministry of Health Chief Administrative Secretary Mercy Mwangangi said that her ministry is in talks with the Ministry of Sports to see how close contact sports can resume.

Other clubs that have undergone the screening exercise are Tusker FC, Sofapaka, kakamega Homeboyz, Bandari FC, Western Stima among others.

Leopards begin their campaign against Posta Rangers on Saturday from 3pm at the Nyayo National Stadium.
