Leopards to leave for Simba friendly on Sunday

AFC Leopards will leave the country on Sunday morning, to play in an international friendly with Tanzanian giants Simba Sports Club on Monday.

The game is to mark the ‘Simba Day’ when the 17-time Tanzanian league champions, commemorate their establishment.

Ingwe landed the invitation after Interclub of Angola, failed to confirm its availability.

“We will be travelling back to Nairobi, immediately after our match against Ushuru at the Mumias Sports Complex because our flight is on Sunday at 10am,” newly elected chairman, Dan Mule, said.

“It is a good exposure for our team, this is a fully sponsored trip by our hosts, we are also looking at a possibility of playing their rivals Yanga FC on Tuesday before coming back home on Wednesday,” he added.

It will be a busy week for Ingwe, travelling a day after playing the taxmen before taking on struggling Nairobi City Stars in the Kenyan Premier League next weekend.

Leopards are in position 11 with 25 points after 20 rounds of the domestic top flight and are seeking to rebuild the team for a title tilt next season.
