AFC Leopards chairman Dan Shikanda has called upon potential corporate sponsors to come on board for a bus branding partnership to boost the club’s financial muscle.

Shikanda says they are open to listen to willing companies to use their two buses for branding as part of the club’s strategy to self-generate funds amid incessant financial woes in the club.

“We are trying to commercialise our football because we must pay our players and branding our facilities is one way of generating money.

“If we can give room for marketing space to be used by interested entities and we generate something out of it then I think this will be excellent. Where we are heading, as a club we need to start generating our own revenue”, he told Citizen Digital.

The club and Gor Mahia former player said he hopes the branding partnerships can be secured before the new season kicks off next month.

He added the club will engage various stakeholders to decide on the company to be contracted to undertake the branding exercise.

“We have two buses, old and the new one and we want to brand them so as when we ferry our players to stadium people will recognise the team with much ease and this will be good for us in the long run,” he added.

“We are in talks with different stakeholders to make a decision on who will be working on the branding of the two buses.

“We have also talked to our shirt sponsors to understand what he wants to market on the buses as our partner.”

Ingwe who will launch their quest for the elusive FKF Premier League title against Western Stima on November 20, signed a three-year shirt sponsorship deal worth Sh.45million with a gaming firm in June.
