Leopards winger Mwendwa ruled of Wazito clash

AFC Leopards will be without Harrison Mwendwa when they face Wazito FC during Saturday’s FKF Premier League tie at the Nyayo National Stadium.

Confirming the news club head coach Antony ‘Modo’ Kimani said the winger is suffering from a hamstring injury and is unlikely to play in the fixture.

“The break has been sufficient since the player have had enough time to rest and even as they have come back they look sharp and raring to go ,Harrison has a hamstring injury and he is recovering well we are hoping to have him back as soon as possible,” Kimani said.

Having lost 2-0 to Western Stima in their last fixture Kimani insists they have worked on their finishing and he is expecting an entertaining tie against his former coach Francis Kimanzi.

“Most of the upcoming coach’s look up to Kimanzi as an inspiration to them me included having worked under him at Mathare United. I love his style of attacking football which is also what we play am looking forward to an entertaining match which I hope the fans will enjoy,” Modo added.

Ingwe who are currently third on the log with 12 points are fighting to retain the services of their captain Robison Kamura whose contract expired in December and he is  yet to sign a new deal.

Club chairman Dan Shikanda told Citizen Digital the secretariat is handling the situation.

“Kamura needs to remember how far he has come with Leopards and how he has grown to be the player he is. I am hoping the situation is being handled well by both parties  since I have been away for some time,” Shikanda said.
