Lionesses return tomorrow after sealing Olympics 2020 slot

After sealing a ticket for the 2020 Olympics Games set for Tokyo, Japan, Kenya Lionesses are expected to jet back  tomorrow at 2 pm at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

Felix Oloo’s charges will be competing in the Olympics for the second time in their history even after losing 14-15 to South Africa on Sunday, this is after the South Africa Olympic Committee introduced a rule preventing its teams from qualifying for the Olympics from an African regional competition.

The first time they qualified was in 2016 in Brazil where they finished 11th winning one match out of five beating Colombia 22-10.

Lionesses have also qualified for HSBC World Sevens Series qualification tournament that will run concurrently with Hong Kong 7s in April 2020.
