Makini top of the pile at Junior Swimming championship

Makini Schools Sports Academy garnered 764 points to top the Junior Swimming Championship for the upcoming South Africa National Age Groups at the Makini Schools as the Competition ends on Sunday.

Bubbles Swimming Academy finished first runners up on 295.33 with Kenton College taking the third position on 283.83.

Makini Coach Antony Mureithi hailed the quality of the competition despite his side’s overwhelming win margin and added he expects more in the upcoming championship.

“My team has performed very well since they have improved compared to last season and we hope to do our best in the upcoming Nationals and the South Africa Age Groups.

Kenya Swimming Federation Patrick Muyah confirmed that Names of those who will be attending the South Africa National Age Groups will be announced later and therefore recognized the teams that performed well.

“There are a lot of new teams who attended and they performed very well am happy we are growing in swimming and there is a lot of talent coming up. For those who will be going to the South Africa for the Age Groups Competition their names will be forded later.”He said

He added that for the remaining teams, the Kenya Swimming Federation will hold another National Junior Swimming Championship which will be on May 11th and more entries are expected.
