Juventus, Roma and AC Milan will have to pay more than half the £27.5 million (Ksh4.1 billion) that Manchester United paid Everton for Marouane Fellaini if they want his services.

The Italian clubs’ first bids for the towering Belgian midfielder were rejected but the Red Devils, through their coach Louis Van Gaal, has informed them that their offers would be considered if they met United’s demands, according to Mirror.co.uk.

The Belgian midfielder has fallen out of favour at the club’s ranks with fans expressing their dismay at his dismal performances this season.

However, he has been used on several occasions by Louis van Gaal as a target-man when United are behind in a match although he is not key in the manager’s plans.

The former Everton midfielder has been an unused substitution in Manchester United’s last two fixtures where they have gone on to pick four points.

This is United’s most decent run of form since their Champions League fixture against German side VFL Wolfsburg where they accumulated a run of four consecutive losses before getting a draw against Chelsea at Old Trafford.

Milan have however shelved their interest in the player with chief executive Adriano Galliani saying: “Fellaini is an interesting player and I’ve always liked him, but it’s impossible in the current situation.”
