Mathare ends Kerr’s unbeaten run as Leopards misery continue

Dylan Kerr’s impressive unbeaten league record with Gor Mahia tumbled on Saturday after Mathare United masterminded their down fall handing them a painful 1-0 defeat at the Thika Sub County Stadium to delay their league coronation.

After the readmission of Nakumatt and Zoo by the Appellate Court, K’Ogalo have been icing the champagne in anticipation of putting their  itchy hands on the spanking new trophy but for now the plans will be put on hold.

Impressive Crispin Oduor who first made his name at Kenya Commercial Bank was the toast of the afternoon putting the mighty Gor to the sword in the fifth minute to unsettle the record 15-time champions.

Cliff Nyakeya picked out Oduor with a neat pass and the latter did not disappoint, planting the ball at the bottom right corner.

The evergreen Medie Kagere, heavily involved, could have put  Gor early in the  first half  but he failed to make the most of the chance.

At the same time, AFC Leopards misery at Narok Stadium continued on Saturday as Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo’s Posta Rangers hit them 2-0 to leave their campaign in matters.

First half strikes from veteran boys Joackins Atudo and Denis Mukaisi sealed the three points for Rangers who earned their first win in ten matches.

At the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, William Muluya’s Kariobangi Sharks fought from a 2-0 goal deficit to force a two- all- draw against visiting Chemelil Sugar in an  enthralling contest.

Jaffery Odeny and Colins Neto goals nearly put the Sharks to the sword but Masoud Juma, a phenomenon for the Sharks this term, once again rose to the occasion, bailing out his side with a brace to settle the nervy showdown.

At the Mbraki Sports Club, the free falling Bandari lost 2-1 to visiting Sofapaka. Lanky Edwin Lavatsa put the home side in the lead in the 24th minute but a plethora of mistakes would prove costly to the Dockers with custodian Wilson Oburu also earning his marching orders.

Meshach Karani  hauled Sofapaka level before Mathias  Kigonya drilled from the spot to hand Soaapaka all the three points.
