Mathare make double swoop, sign Kago, Okeyo

Mathare United have made double signing bagging winger Danson Kago from Posta Rangers and Cersidy Okeyo from Sofapaka FC.

Kago who has previously turned out for Sofapaka and Tusker joins the ‘Slum Boy’s on a one-year deal while Okeyo, a former Gor Mahia man has penned a two-year deal.

For Kago, the return to Mathare is nostalgic as he’s a graduate of the famed Mathare Youth Sports Association(MYSA).

“A one-time league champion and two-time domestic cup winner, Kago’s quick feet are a welcome addition in both offensive wings,” the club said on their official Facebook page as they unveiled him.

The ”Slum Boys”, winner of the league title in 2008 are rebuilding as they bid to reclaim the lost glory.

Meanwhile, AFC Leopards have loaned out young custodian Maxwell Mulili Muchesia to Zoo Kericho FC.

Muchesia, who also turns out for the Kenya Under-20 side will be at the Kericho based club throughout the season
