Mathare, Sofapaka to play in Machakos in match venue changes

Due to the unavailability of the Thika Sub-County Stadium this weekend, the Kenya Premier League has moved two games that were to be played at the stadium to different grounds.

Newly promoted Kariobangi Sharks will now host Ulinzi Stars at the Machakos Kenyatta Stadium on Saturday, April 1 starting 4:15 pm, a match that was scheduled for early kick off in Thika on Saturday.

Also affected is Mathare United and Sofapaka that will now play at the Machakos Kenyatta Stadium on Sunday, April 2 stating 3:00 pm.

“Due to the unavailability of the Thika Sub-County Stadium, the following matches; Kariobangi Sharks vs Ulinzi Stars and Mathare United vs Sofapaka, have had their venues changed,” stated the KPL in a statement.

Sharks had initially wanted to move their home matches to Narok stadium, but the newly renovated stadium has not been approved by the Kenyan Premier League Stadia Safety and Security Committee.
