Francis Kimanzi’s Mathare United continued their impressive run in the Kenyan Premier League beating 2009 champions Sofapaka 3-1 on Sunday afternoon at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

Francis Omondi, Crispin Oduor and Edward Seda were on target for the ‘Slum Boys’ as they cruised to a  convincing victory while goalie Mathias Kigonya replied for Sofapaka but it was an effort in futility.

Kigonya scored from the spot after a handball after Omondi had to given Mathare the lead, also from the spot, after Edward Seda had been brought down in the Sofapaka box.

However, an Oduor cracker restored Mathare’s lead before Seda had the final word with the third goal.
