Mayweather stripped of title won in Pacquiao fight

Floyd Mayweather has been stripped of his WBO welterweight title he won against Manny Pacquiao in May.

The American had until Friday to pay a 200,000 dollar sanctioning fee from the record breaking fight, and was due to also relinquish his junior middleweight titles.

WBO rules state that a boxer can only hold belts in one weight class, they had given Mayweather time to make the decision on which weight to stick at.

But after the 38-year-old failed to reach the organising body’s deadline, the fight which earnt Mayweather 200 million dollars, hasn’t given him the belt.
