McIlroy wins Deutchse Bank Championship

Rory McIlroy secured his first PGA Tour victory for 14 months after winning the Deutsche Bank Championship in Boston on Monday.

The Northern Irishman trailed by six shots going into the final round before carding a six-under 65 that included seven birdies to beat Paul Casey by two shots.

Casey had registered three consecutive rounds of 66 to lead going into the final day but struggled in the windy conditions and ended with a two-over-par round of 73.

PGA Championship winner Jimmy Walker was a further shot back from Casey in third whilst Australian Adam Scott came fourth on 11-under-par for the tournament.
