Medo: I dont know why I was sacked

Melis Medo says he cannot explain his sacking by Wazito FC, saying it came as  shock to him just three weeks after his appointment.

The American-Egyptian who replaced Fred Ambani had not even settled in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) side, as he had already led Wazito in only four matches.

It is believed that the decision to part ways with Medo came as a result of failing to inspire results, although the club has not given a detailed statement about the move.

“I really don’t know what’s wrong. Yes we’ve parted ways but I can’t tell why the team failed to win. I’m still in the country but I’ll leave very soon,” a disappointed Medo said.

A 2-0 loss to KPL newcomers Kisumu All Stars on Wednesday triggered his sack, summarising his history at the club at three losses and a win.

The former Mount Kenya United gaffer is however consoled he will paid for the terminated contract, hoping to land a new opportunity outside the country.

They will pay me. That was an agreement between us. I will have to go back to Egypt because there are also opportunities out there. I may manage one of the clubs there soon,” a still in shock Medo revealed.

Being one of the few clubs not largely affected by lack of sponsorship in the KPL, Wazito president Ricardo Badoer is angry with the results so far.

After 10 matches, Wazito has is placed 13th with only 10 points.

Medo had previously coached Mount Kenya United, Sofapaka before landing the Wazito job last month.
