Medo non-committal over Nakumatt future

Nakumatt head coach Melis Medo has cast doubts over his future at the club following their 2-0 win against Ushuru in a second leg play-off match played at Moi Sports Centre,Kasarani, that enabled them maintain their top-tier status on a 3-0 aggregate win.

Two well taken goals in either half from Joseph Waithira were enough to ensure Nakumatt secured their top flight status but the tactician was quick to point out the failures of the club, perhaps the reasons behind his desire not to continue his stint with the outfit.

Medo who took the team at the relegation zone grounded some results to keep their survival hopes alive but they could not escape a play-off against Ushuru who had finished third in the National Super League, with Medo saying they did not deserve to be in the play-offs.

“Honestly we don’t even deserve to be here. It was a good game year but this is not where we are supposed to be.Imagine three months without pay; not just me but also the players. The board should pay these guys their salaries because it would have been another club they could have decided to throw the towel,”he told Citizen Digital.

Medo claimed that he has so far rejected overtures from AFC Leopards who later appointed Serbian Nicola Kavazovic as a replacement to Rodolfo Zapata.

Nakumatt will head into the new campaign hoping to have addressed their financial woes
