Medo shown the door as Wazito struggles hang on

Kenyan Premier League (KPL) side Wazito FC have sacked head coach Melis Medo, after just four games in charge at the club.

Medo was unveiled as the Wazito head coach on October 24, replacing Fred Ambani and his technical bench who were fired on grounds of poor results.

The American coach oversaw four games in the league winning only one, which came against a struggling Sony Sugar side that have since been relegated due to dishing out three walkovers.

A source close to the club intimated to Citizen Digital Medo was axed on Wednesday after failing to inspire the team to winning ways as his employer demanded while parting ways with Ambani, and causing division in the dressing room.

His last match in charge was yesterday, when Wazito lost 2-0 to KPL minnows Kisumu All Stars in Kisumu, a side that had won only a single match previously.

Medo had previously coached Mount Kenya United, Sofapaka before landing the Wazito job last month with former Wazito and Gor Mahia coach Frank Ouna linked with a return to the club.

Massive investment by outspoken Wazito owner Ricardo Badoer have not paid any dividends, as expected in the start of the season.

While most of the clubs in the league have endured hard financial times due lack of sponsorship, the Wazito flamboyant man has kept his team and staff happy from his pocket.

Wazito are currently placed 13th on the log with only points 10 from 10 matches.
