Meru Angels reinforced their powerhouse credentials by defending the Baseball Bush annual tournament with a 12-3 thumping win over Nairobi All-Stars at the Alliance Boys at the weekend.

At the same time, Meru Angels under-15 team fell to Kilimanjaro All-Stars 14-0 to post mixed results in the two- day tourney.

To win the title, Angels defeated both NYS and JKUAT who later merged to form Nairobi All -Stars but even then they were no match for the well drilled Angels. In the under 17s category, Kikuyu Day dispatched Alliance 14-3.

Attention now shifts to Meru University this weekend when teams from the   US and Japan embassies are also expected to participate in a scouting mission aimed at selecting players for the national team.

‘’The two embassies will help us identify the best talents for our preparations for the 2020 Olympics,’’ Meru Angels coach, James Muchiri said in reference to the summer games penciled for Tokyo, Japan.

Meru Angels and JKUAT are all expected to send players to the event.
