Migne names provisional squad for Sierra Leone duty

Harambee Stars head coach Sebastien Migne has named a provisional squad of 30 to do duty against Sierra Leone in African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Sierra Leone remains suspended by world governing body Fifa owing to the government’s interference with football maters in the West African country and it remains unclear if Fifa could lift the suspension.

However the naming of the squad by Kenya is telling, meaning that if Fifa lifts the suspension, the Stars will lock horns with the west Africans in the fight to seal a slot to next year Afcon showpieces et for Cameroon.

The provisional 30-man squad named by Migne mainly comprises players who played a part in Stars victory against Ghana and the double header against Ethiopia.

However China based winger Ayub Timbe has been recalled having served a three-match ban. England-based duo of Henry Ochieng and Jonah Ayunga has also earned a call-up, with Masud Juma also expected to make a return.

Kenya is also set to play a friendly match against a yet to be named opponent during the November 12-20 international window.

Kenya top the pool on seven points from four matches.
