Minnows Compel eye FKF Cup semis despite Leopards hurdle
FKF Division One side
Compel FC are confident of qualifying for the FKF Cup semis despite facing a
herculean hurdle of overcoming FKF-Premier League giants AFC Leopards.
Despite the seemingly
mission impossible task, Compel are purring ahead of kick,
Speaking to Citizen
Digital, head coach Paul Nyongesa expressed optimism ahead of the tie,
underlining their intent of going toe-to-toe against the topflight behemoths.
Despite the huge gap between the two sides, Nyongesa is upbeat his charges will give Ingwe a run
for their money.
"Compel FC is
made of talented players from the grassroots without topflight experience.
“We normally train
young lads that have completed school instead of letting them loiter
around," he said.
"Premier League
clubs have been knocking at our door and so far five of our players have joined
the top tier sides.
“The boys are in good
condition and well prepared with no injury concerns in the squad.
“We recently played
against Veg Pro in a friendly match and won by 1-0 as a way of gauging
ourselves."
The eagerly
anticipated match is scheduled for Sunday morning at the Dandora Stadium.
