MMUST, Strathmore Leos promoted to Kenya Cup

MMUST and Strathmore Leos earned promotion to the Kenya Cup after defeating Mean Machine and Northern Suburbs 21-12 and 23-6 respectively in the Championship playoffs semifinals.

MMUST scored three converted tries against four penalties scored by Machine.

Fly half Festus Shiasi scored a penalty in the fourth minute to give machine the lead making it 6-0 in the 16th minute with another drop kick.

MMUST’S Tyson Juma missed a penalty in the 24th minute but scored a try inside the post John Bahati converting it to make it 7-6 in the 28th minute.

Shiasi added another drop kick for Machine in the 39th minute making it 9-7.

Machine’s skipper Trevor Asian added the fourth penalty making it 12-7.

MMUST started their come back with a converted try by Venance Shikuba in the 63rd minute Mmasi Timothy converting it to make it 14-12.

Outstanding Mmasi Timothy scored the last try converting it to make it 21-12 at full time.
