Morans overpowered by Angola at Afrobasket
The Kenya men’s national basketball team lost 66-83 to Angola as their poor start at the ongoing Afrobasket qualifiers continued in Kigali, Rwanda.
Angola dominated the all but the final quarter which Morans won 28-15 with the captain Eric Mutoro leading the scoring for Kenya with 13 points. Angola’s Abou Bakar Gakou scored a match-high 21.
The Morans will face Mozambique tomorrow at 5PM in their last group B match tomorrow on Friday.
On Wednesday, Kenya lost 92-54 to Senegal in their opening match while Angola defeated Mozambique 87-58.
Only the top three teams from the qualification journey after second leg will qualify for the Afrobasket Championship that will be held in Kigali, Rwanda next year.
