Congolese giants DC Motema Pembe are scheduled to touch down at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport  on Friday ahead of their Caf Confederation Cup playoffs with Kenyan champions Gor Mahia.

Motema Pembe are currently in Rwanda for a three-day camp ahead of the Sunday clash at Kasarani. They left Kinshasa on Monday.

In an interview with Citizen Digital on Tuesday, Gor Mahia CEO Lordvick Aduda confirmed they had sent the match officials from Algeria air tickets and they will be arriving on Friday morning.

“They (Motema Pembe) are currently in Rwanda for training and will be arriving on Friday at a time yet to be confirmed but we are ready for them come Sunday,”Aduda charged.

“The tickets will be available online with the terrace tickets retailing at Sh 200 and Sh 2,000 for VIP,” added Aduda.

Meanwhile the team expects to have skipper Kenneth Muguna and Joash Onayngo who’ve been AWOL available for the clash.

The duo missed Gor’s weekend league win over Kariobangi Sharks for various reasons with head coach Steve Pollack forced to name defender Joakim Oluoch as an interim captain.

“The coach spoke to them and they promised to be back in training on Tuesday afternoon, they are very important players to our team and its important to have them for this crunch tie,” reckoned  Aduda who prior to joining Gor’s executive served in a similar role at FKF.

The Kenyan champions dropped to the second-tier continental competition – the CAF Confederations Cup after going down to USM Alger of Algeria in the CAF Champions League second round of qualification losing 6-1 on aggregate.

“Despite financial challenges we are facing we know how important this match is and we urge our fans to turn up in large numbers to support the team on Sunday,”Aduda told Citizen Digital.

Last season, the 18 times Kenyan  Premier League champions  managed to reach the quarter-finals of the Confederation Cup after dropping out of the Champions League but they were eliminated by RS Berkane in a 7-1 aggregate defeat.
