Mount Kenya stun Leopards as Gor go third

AFC Leopards lost their third match on the bounce when they went 2-1 down at home to Mount Kenya United, sinking closer to the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) relegation danger zone.

It was the least ideal way for Andre Casa Mbungo to begin life as the new Leopards boss after the Rwandan was appointed to replace Serbian Marco Vasiljevic on Tuesday.

John Ndirangu and Timothy Wanyonyi struck for Mount Kenya on either side of Salim Abdalla’s goal to seal only their second victory of the season in just four days.

Meanwhile, Gor Mahia FC climbed up into third on the KPL table after defeating Vihiga United 1-0 at the Bukhungu Stadium thanks to Nicholas Kipkirui’s first half winner.

Elsewhere at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu, Western Stima bounced back to winning ways with a 1-0 victory over Zoo Kericho FC.
