Mourinho right man for United-Deco

Former Porto star Deco believes Jose Mourinho is the right man to lead Manchester United into a new era.

The Portuguese coach has been hotly tipped to take over from Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford, should the under-fire Dutchman be sacked by the Premier League club.

Brazil legend Deco won two Primeira Liga titles and the UEFA Champions League under Mourinho in the early 2000s, and says the so-called ‘special one’ is the best coach he has ever had.

“I don’t know if [Jose] Mourinho is going to [Manchester] United, but if it is true, in my opinion he is the right man for the right job. At the moment United need to bring back their history and I think Mourinho is the perfect coach to train United.

“I worked with Mourinho when he was starting in football. At that time I said that we had some fantastic players and one young coach in Mourinho, giving us everything he knew. For us it was fantastic because I learned a lot with him, and not just me – me and the other players. We won everything we could, the memories are good. He was the best coach that I had. Our team, our generation at Porto was a fantastic experience.”
