Muhiddin confident Bandari will sail through in CAF

Bandari FC head coach, Twahir Muhiddin has said their CAF Confederations Cup journey is far from over despite trailing 2-0 to Congolese side St. Eloi Lupopo ahead of Sunday’s return leg clash.

Speaking at Nyayo Stadium on Friday afternoon, said denial of visas to Ugandan contingent affected their first half performance away in Congo but he has faith the deficit can be erased with Lupopo set to arrive later in the night.

“People should not be surprised if we recover the two goals we were scored away since nothing is impossible.

“In the first leg, we had problems with Ugandan players who had been denied visas and when they came on in the second half, we improved our game.

“We improved our game and we are adding one or two players for this round,” the former Harambee Stars head coach stressed.

He urged caution saying playing at Nyayo would give them home advantage since the Mombasa based club was used to playing at the capital.

Bandari are seeking to qualify for the first round of the Confederations Cup on their début season in continental football after winning the GOtv Shield.

“Playing at Nyayo is an advantage for us and Nairobi is like home, we’ve played here for the last three years so we are not worried about the weather,” Muhidin said on playing away from their Mbaraki home stadium in Mombasa.
