Muhiddin to lead Bandari against Mathare despite Odhiambo arrival

Veteran tactician Twahir Muhiddin is expected to be at the dugout when Bandari host Mathare United in a Kenyan Premier League clash scheduled for Saturday in Mombasa despite the arrival of Ken Odhiambo at the club.

Ken Odhiambo who has been involved in the team’s training sessions of late is however expected to be confirmed as permanent manager by next week after the conclusion of the weekend match.

According to Twaha Mbarak, a member of the club’s Board of Trustees, Odhiambo’s deal will be confirmed upon a Board meeting primed for anytime next week.

The club has been reluctant to confirm a new permanent manager with Mwalala quoted saying he still has a running contract despite his dismissal.

Odhiambo faces a full in-tray with the most pressing being to turnaround the team’s floundering fortunes as well as defend the FKF-Shield.

Placed in the lower half of the 17-team table at position 11 with 20 points, the Dockers have a massive fight in their hands in a bid to finish in the top-five.

They have also been drawn against Sofapaka in the FKF Round of 16, a tricky looking test in all estimations and will have to cobble up ways of stopping the latter if their dream of continental football is to be kept alive.
