Mukidza to lead Simbas in Elgon Cup onslaught

After an outstanding performance in the first leg win in Kampala in the first leg of Elgon Cup, KCBs Darwin Mukidza will captain Simbas during the return fixture in Nairobi with the clash doubling up as the teams’ first Africa 1A Cup (Gold Cup) match.

Mukidza starred the Simbas triumphed 23-18 over the home team at the Ugandan capital and will hope to replicate his precise shooting on home turf when the showdown gets underway at the RFUEA Grounds.

Jerome Paarwater made two changes to the side that won away a fortnight ago with backrow Joshua Chisanga and fly half Isaac Adimo handed starts.

According to Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) website, KCB’s Kenny Andola will have a first appearance while Mwamba’s Brad Owako earns first call up expected to be in line to make his Simbas debut.

The two will start off the bench to make the match Day 23 in place of Biko Adema who is unavailable due to work commitments and Kelvin Masai.

20-year-old Steve “Security” Otieno is also in line for his Simba’s debut. Otieno replaces Martin Owila who is rested for this clash.
