Muluya eyeing points against Gor in KPL clash

Kariobangi Sharks head coach William Muluya has warned champions Gor Mahia his charges are going for a victory when the two sides clash in a Kenyan Premier League match on Wednesday.

Gor , fresh from a 2-3 victory over Tanzania’s Yanga in the CAF Cup, are keen to finish the league without a loss but Muluya’s men pose a threat in their unbeaten record so far.

According to Muluya, Gor’s success in different competitions serves a positive psychological spark to his players as they prepare to lock horns at the Moi Stadium Kisumu.

“We will be up against the league leaders and that in itself is a motivation. Players usually give their best when playing in such matches and I expect the same. We have prepared very well for the game and I expect a positive result from the match,” told the former Mathare United Team Manager.

The seventh-placed side will however miss the services of three key players, as confirmed by the coach.

“Injured George Abege, goalkeeper Jeff Oyemba and Captain Eric Juma won’t be available for the match. I am confident those that will play in their places will do well. We have been preparing with that in mind,” Muluya offered.

Sharks are 18 points behind K’Ogalo, after registering 34 from 23 matches in their second season in the topflight.

Gor on their side have four matches in hand, having played the least in the league (20) so far.

A win for them will take them closer to their 17th title, with a treble possibility as their 2018 CAF Cup and FKF Shield dreams are still valid.
