Muluya hails Sharks character as team suffer Kapaito blow
Kariobangi Sharks head coach William Muluya has hailed his team for their character in the 1-0 win over Kenya Premier League champions Gor Mahia at the weekend which handed them a maiden Super Cup title.
According to Muluya, Gor Mahia had dominance in the first half but lost gas after the interval as his determined Sharks went for their scalp.
“It’s all about character and I believe we are all in the same platform to compete.
“A win against Gor is a good start as we head into the new season that kicks off next week, “he enthused.
The Sharks face Djibouti side Artar Solai in the second leg of the CAF- Confederations Cup after mauling the latter 6-1 at Kasarani last week in the first leg preliminary match.
After a trip to Djibouti on Wednesday, the Sharks will then face-off with AFC Leopards in their 2018/19 KPL season opener
At the same time , the team has suffered a major set-back as key striker Eric Kapaito is set to miss a number of matches with due to an injury.
Kapaito who was recently crowned the KPL Player of the Year after bagging 16 goals for Sharks in the 2018 season has been an important cog in the team’s formation.
“Kapaito will be out for quite some time.We expect him back to full training early in the new year, ” said Muluya.
