Musonye confident of dethroning Mwendwa in October polls

Former CECAFA secretary general Nicholas Musonye is confident of dethroning Football Kenya Federation president Nick Mwendwa in the October 17 elections.

Musonye who was at the helm of the regional football body for 22 years before stepping down last year is upbeat that he will persuade the delegates to cast their lot with him, to end Mwendwa’s four-and- a-half year stint at the helm of Kenya’s football body.

“Through the divine intervention, I want to emphasize that I am going to be the next FKF President. This should be known to all Kenyans.

I want you to take this to the bank, when God anoints someone then no force can overturn His decision.

Moreover, I want you to note that I am a staunch Catholic and when I say that by the divine intervention I am going to ascend to the FKF throne then you have no reason to doubt me but note it down for reference,” the former print journalist charged.

Additionally, the tough-talking Musonye has warned his competitors to join his camp before time runs out.

“We are very calm and strategically positioned. Anybody who wants to join our camp can do so and anyone who is still skeptical let them ship out out,” he underscored.

Others hoping to topple Mwendwa in the October 17 exercise are former football president Sam Nyamweya, Herbert Mwachiro, Sammy Sholei, Steven Mburu, Moses Akaranga, Alex Ole Magelo among others.
